Internet Business Plan - Designing Your Website p. 2
Why create a new product or new line? By coming up with something that is unique to your business you are bringing qualities to your line of work. People will see your product and have instant recognize it! They will know that your business is legit and that you aren’t just a fad business that will soon be obsolete.
What should you create? Well, this is going to depend on your specialty when it comes to innovative products. If you sell tennis rackets you may want to consider simply getting your own branding on a tennis racket (like having your business name/ logo on the backs); if you sell rackets you may want to design your own racket that is unique to your business; if you sell tennis shoes you may want to market a shoe that has your logo on the side! Whatever you can imagine, you should try to create! The next step in this is going to whoever you buy your tennis products from and pitching the idea to them. You will probably be surprised at how cheaply you can make this happen!
Have membership requirements on your website, paying ones in order to bring in additional revenue!
If you have spent any amount of time on the internet then you’ve probably run into all the websites that ask for your email address and want you to register with their site before letting you on. Some of these sites just want you to register so they know how many people are visiting their site everyday and so they have a way to contact you if they need to. Other sites require you to pay for registration because they have valuable information or product capabilities on their sites.
These website ‘locks’ or registration requirements are becoming more and more popular because they allow businesses to operate on their own standards, and no one else’s! Also, they help businesses perform better customer service by being able to concentrate on the particular needs of those who register with them. Here are a few guidelines you may want to consider before making this step:
Make sure you’ve had your website for a little while before jumping into website registration. If the second step you make (after getting your domain name) is to lock it down with required registrations then you have made a poor decision! You first want to market your website and get people to frequent it and then you want to add registration for monitoring purposes.
Consider carefully how you register your customers. Chances are, you’re not going to want a paying registration for people to just view your business site. Since you are in the business of selling retail products you want to make it as easy as possible for people to jump onto your site and purchase an item. Think carefully about how you decide to make customers register because they are buying off the internet for convenience purposes- not to be hassled by registrations!
Should you charge or shouldn’t you charge? Almost all of the business registrations on the internet are free services. While this may seem to defeat the purpose for you, you’ll probably want to do the same in order to keep customers coming back to your site on a regular basis. One thing you may want to consider is having a paying option where people can opt to pay for membership ‘perks’ such as your newsletter, E-zine, special information or services or deals! For instance, if you specialize in selling shoes you may offer paying members a 10% discount on all of their purchases as well as a copy of your bi-monthly newsletter! How much should you charge? Well this will be completely up to what you are offering you’re paying members! The more you offer, the more you can charge!
Many small businesses can benefit from the wide results of internet marketing and the money making tools that were discussed in this Section. Not only can you expect to make a little bit of extra revenue each pay period, but you can expect to gain legitimacy and quality from partaking in these simple practices. Your poker product business doesn’t have to settle for sales profits, you can use real live interaction to make money!
